A compact excavator, also known as a mini excavator, is a small excavator designed for work in confined spaces. Volvo offers compact excavators in several weight classes, such as the EC18E, the EC27D, and the ECR25D. The ECR is a short-tail model, which is useful when working close to walls and other obstacles.
